University Engineering Programs

The Tennessee Space Grant Consortium (TSGC) at UT supports training and research for students in areas relevant to aeronautics and space exploration. Engineering competitions are held each year and the TSGC seeks to support student engagement in these programs. Students gain experience writing proposals, designing, building, and testing complex rockets and mechanical systems, and presenting their work at national competitions. These skills and experiences prepare students for future careers in STEM.

Funding will be made available for eligible and robust graduate and undergraduate-led projects in national engineering competitions. Please reach out to Space Grant administration on the contact page.

UT student teams have qualified for and successfully competed in the:

  • Spaceport America Cup
  • NASA Moon to Mars Ice & Prospecting Challenge
  • NASA Lunabotics Challenge
